The Empowerment Foundation (MPWRMNT) is a non-profit organisation that supports international professionals and companies in strengthening the European labour market. To do so, the foundation offers career performance programmes, executive coaching, outplacement initiatives, and events. These services are offered free-of-charge to individuals, as well as on a bespoke basis to organisations seeking to build more inclusive and international work cultures.
Our coaching services are provided through a mix of online and in-person meetings. As a volunteer coach, you will be crucial in helping our clients address their immediate unemployment situation while addressing them as whole individuals. In addition, you will serve as a sounding board and advisor, assisting clients to overcome any obstacles that may be holding them back from achieving their goals of returning to the workforce.

Requirements & Qualifications:
Coaching certification with ICF or other legitimate coaching body
Demonstrated experience in working with multicultural individuals and teams
Confident and empathetic personality
Tolerance for individuals from diverse backgrounds
Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills
Fluent in English (knowledge of Spanish is a bonus)
Comfortable with technology and different applications
Administrative Responsibilities:
Proactively use our coaching portal to match and track client progress
Update availability and capacity within the portal monthly
Deliver quality coaching and career advice to our clients
Take on a minimum of two clients at a time and provide up to five coaching sessions per client
Attend our monthly coaches meeting at least once per trimester to maintain a sense of community within our team, receive important information, and stay connected with other volunteers and coaches.

The Event Team
On the Event team, we are responsible for the workshops, interactive webinars, and external fairs we attend. This includes creating events that fit our theme, help our community, and fit our brand. We find facilitators within WEnnovate and outside WEnnovate who are willing to volunteer their time to help our community. We work side-by-side with the marketing team so they can promote our events online. On the day of the event, we’re there to help the facilitator and direct the attendees. We are also there to handle the tech side of things on Zoom. That means letting people in, managing the recording and creating break-out rooms.
About the Role
You will be participating in planning, managing, and executing virtual events and webinars and connecting with potential facilitators, supporting the facilitator (if need be), launching the events through Eventbrite, promoting the event, and occasionally acting as a host.
We’re seeking people who are:
Fluent in English, but it does not have to be your native tongue
Experience in online & in-person events, workshops, or webinars is appreciated.
Leadership experience is also a plus
Excellent communication skills
Strong organisational skills
Open to learning new things, entrepreneurial-minded
Tech-savvy
Patience and understanding
Proactive—if something needs fixing, then you don’t wait to be asked to fix it
Open to meeting new people
Comfortable in international spaces – everyone is from everywhere

Able to work on your own or with others
Able to donate at 4 – 6 hours per week
Available for the next four months
We are based in Amsterdam, and although we have volunteers worldwide, we are searching for local volunteers in or near the Amsterdam area for this role.
These are unpaid volunteer roles that can be used as internships.

Since 2022, we have grown to develop more programs that support not only immigrants living in the Netherlands, but we will also branch out to refugees and women working in S.T.E.A.M. (science and technology, engineering, arts, and math) under our WEnnovate brand.

Purpose of the Position
The Content Writer will align our overall marketing objectives with our blogs and websites. They are a vital marketing team member, making sure the content we put out aligns with our brand and connects with the people we are ultimately trying to help. In addition, this role coordinates and supports our ambitious goals to help our communities.
You will be responsible for some critical tasks in this role. However, we work together on everything, so even though you take the lead on some of these things, you are not alone in doing everything. We support each other because we believe in the power of what we are doing.
Develops engaging content for articles, blogs, our website, stories, and social media to engage the audience
Writes fresh content based on research and brainstorming by the marketing team
Copies, edits, and proofread content created by other members of the marketing team
Creates SEO-optimized content/articles on our website, blog, and newsletters
Research ideas and facts pertinent to the type of content relevant to our organization
Develops ideas derived from online/offline research
Prepares scripts for staff to use in promoting our events.
Works with team members from the marketing team to understand what works with our audiences per medium.
Qualifications
Qualifications and skills are essential, but it’s not everything. We want to bring people on our team who wish to help others. We are a team of people who feel passionate about our work together. Likewise, we share this drive that we are making a difference in someone’s life. So we’re looking for new team members who share this drive and passion. If you have that, then the rest will fall into place.
1+ years experience in content writing
Bachelor’s degree
Excellent writing skills in several styles/tones
Excellent English and impeccable spelling and grammar
An in-depth understanding of consumers and what motivates them
Familiarity with SEO best practices
Ability to use Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets
Comfortable using technology, i.e., apps
Compassion for others when they are in a difficult situation
Tolerance for other nationalities and their way of reacting or responding to things
Able to manage stress and know to slow down. Nothing is more important than your health. Always speak up about how much you can handle.

Commitment Expected
We expect 5 – 8 hours per week. However, there may be some weeks when we need more time, usually around an upcoming event. We try to plan these things well in advance, but sometimes, things don’t quite work out that way. So our objective is to balance out the workload.
We are based in Amsterdam and work with an international community. Our volunteers sit all over Europe at the moment.
